DOVER-FOXCROFT- Brady Hartsgrove and Keith Lilly both had 13 points on Monday night, leading the Nokomis Warriors to a 52-48 schoolboy basketball win over the Foxcroft Academy Ponies.

Foxcroft (4-3) scored a quick five points, before Nokomis responded with a 6-0 run. The Ponies though behind 10 first quarter points from Lucas Ames had an 18-14 lead after one quarter. The Warriors outscored the hosts 14-7 in the second quarter to take a 28-25 lead into halftime. Nokomis (2-7) was able to extend the lead to 44-36 headed into the final period, thanks to six third quarter points from Lilly. The Ponies opened the fourth on a 7-0 spurt and cut it to 44-43 when Logan Martin on a fastbreak found Adam Connors who nailed a jumper. After the Warriors gained control and a five point lead, Foxcroft would later tie the game when Caden Crocker hit a three-pointer at 48-48 with about 1:35 to go. Nokomis got the eventual game winner when Jakob Noyes hit a layup off an inbounds pass and got fouled with 50 seconds left. Noyes missed the free throw however. The guests then got a steal, but turned the ball over to give the Ponies one more chance with 22 seconds remaining. A jump ball on an attempted drive gave the ball to the Warriors, and Lilly hit two free throws to ice the win.
