The Husson Eagles led from start to finish Saturday afternoon at Newman Gym in Bangor, rolling to a 105-66 men’s basketball win over Northern Vermont-Lyndon.
It was a slow start for both teams, before Husson (3-0) used a 14-3 run to start pulling away and the Eagles had a 51-30 halftime lead. The hosts would eventually built their largest lead of the day of 43 late in the second half. DJ Bussey led the way in the win with 23 points. Scott Lewis had 18 points and 11 rebounds off the bench, while Justice Kendall also added 12 points and four assists. Peyton Olsen had 14 points to lead NVM-Lyndon (1-2), as the Hornets commited 31 turnovers and were outscored 43-9 on miscues on the day. Husson goes for the weekend sweep on Sunday afternoon.
