The University of Maine women’s soccer team played a game for the first time since October 27, 2019 on Sunday afternoon, opening up their eight game spring schedule at Merrimack College and Martone-Marjail Field in North Andover, Massachusetts.
Maine had some early chances, but it was Rebecca Harty who provided the eventual game winner for the Warriors at the 14:45 mark of the first half. Erin Tyldesley would provide some breathing room scoring just 6:31 into the second half that lead to a 2-0 Merrimack victory.
Maine outshot Merrimack 8-5, while the Warriors had 7 corner kicks to just 1 for the Bears. Alison Tobey stopped three shots in net in the loss, while Megan Langlois stopped all eight for MC. Maine is scheduled to play next Saturday at Albany with kickoff at 3 p.m.
