The Boston Celtics got a team high 31 points from Jayson Tatum Sunday night, including a shot through the lane with 4.7 seconds remaining to rally from a five point deficit with less than 50 seconds left to take a 111-110 win over the Washington Wizards at TD Garden in Boston.
Boston (17-17) overcame a 46 point performance from Bradley Beal to win their second straight game. Washington (13-19) led 110-105 when Beal drove and hit a layup with 46.9 seconds remaining. Tatum hit the last three shots for the Celtics to rally them to the victory, including the game winner hitting a tough off balance shot through the middle of the lane with less than five seconds left. Beal missed a fadeaway 19 foot jumper that would of given the Wizards their second win over Boston this season.
Tatum added eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the win. Kemba Walker had 21 points, five rebounds, and eight assists while Daniel Theis had 20 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. Jaylen Brown did not play due to a sore knee. Beal hit 16-29 from the floor and added seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals to his point total. Russell Westbrook also had 24 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists. Boston will host the LA Clippers Tuesday night.
