The Husson baseball team had their North Atlantic Conference home openers on Saturday afternoon at the Winkin Complex in Bangor. It ended up as a sweep for the Eagles over the University of Maine-Farmington by scores of 6-0 and 4-0.
In game one, Husson got two hits each from Kobe Rogerson and Brandon Smith and a great start on the mound from Cam Graham to take the opener. Five different Eagles had an RBI each, including Rogerson and Smith. Graham (1-1) went 5.2 innings allowing no runs on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts. Riley Bartell had two hits for the UMF Beavers.
In game two, Rogerson had three more hits and one RBI and three other Eagles added an RBI a piece as the sweep was completed. Brandon Brunell (1-1) also picked up his first pitching win of the season allowing no runs on three hits with no walks and four strikeouts in 4.0 innings. Bartell led the way for UMF again with a pair of hits.
Husson is now 3-4 overall and 3-0 in North Atlantic Conference play. Each conference win has come over the Beavers this week, outscoring them 18-0 in the three games against one another. UMF is 0-4 and 0-3 in the NAC. The teams are scheduled to play another doubleheader on Sunday in Farmington.
