Celtics trade Kemba Walker to OKC

June 18, 2021

In a report first broken by Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN on Friday morning, the Boston Celtics are sending guard Kemba Walker, the 16th pick in the 2021 Draft, and a 2025 second round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Al Horford, Moses Brown, and a second round pick in 2023.

Walker battled a knee injury this past season with Boston only playing in 43 games. He averaged 19.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.9 assists. Horford returns to Beantown having spent three seasons with the Celtics from 2016-2018. He was a healthy scratch for the Thunder in their last 28 games this season, a mutual decision between him and the team to focus on playing younger players. In his limited time he averaged 14.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. Moses Brown just completed his second season in the NBA. The center out of UCLA played one year for the Portland Trailblazers before landing with OKC this past year, averaging 8.9 PPG with 5.3 RPG.
