First place Sea Dogs back home after taking four of six over the Patriots

The Portland Sea Dogs are now back home for a day off, after winning the series finale over the Somerset Patriots 10-5 Sunday evening to take the series four out of six games and first place in the Double A Northeast Division by 1/2 game over Somerset with just 32 regular season contests remaining.

Portland (53-35) used the long ball to return back to Hadlock Field in first place. Hudson Potts, Kole Cottam, and Devlin Granberg each homered with Cottam falling just a triple short of a cycle. Grant Williams, Granberg, and Cottam had three hits a piece, while Potts and Tyreque Reed had two each. Emmanuel De Jesus (3-2) won on the mound in relief of starter Denyi Reyes. Joan Martinez got his third save pitching 2.0 perfect innings with five strikeouts. Jefry Valdez had a blown save for Somerset (53-36), while Addison Russ (2-2) took the loss in relief on the hill. Brandon Lockridge had two hits for the Patriots.

Portland now has 18 of the last 32 games remaining at home, beginning Tuesday evening when they start a six game series with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.
