Dexter holds off Orono for girls soccer win

DEXTER— The Dexter Tigers girls soccer team scored two unanswered first half goals and held on for a 2-1 win over Orono on Saturday afternoon.

Eleanor Tyne got the scoring started for the Red Riots on an assist from Anna Molly just 3:08 into the contest. Midway through the first half, the Tigers got a goal from Cally Gudroe and just 6:28 later, Abby Corson scored the eventual game winner with 14:27 left in the half.

Jasmine Lewis made seven saves on 14 shots for the Tigers. Corson also had an assist. Dexter (3-2-2) will play at MCI on Monday. Charlie Ann Burns made 10 saves on 16 shots for the Red Riots. Orono (3-4-1) will host Washington Academy on Monday.
