Brad Marchand, Derek Forbort, and David Pastrnak each had a goal and an assist Sunday afternoon, as the Boston Bruins defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-3 at TD Garden in Boston.
Marchand scored just 28 seconds into the first period, as Forbort also scored and Pastrnak later had a powerplay goal in the opening stanza for a 3-0 lead. After Jasper Weatherby scored to make it 3-1 in the first for San Jose, Jake Debrusk pushed it back to a three goal lead for Boston at 5:41 of the second. Tomas Hertl and Timo Meier scored in the third for the Sharks, but the Bruins would hold on to improve to 3-1-0. It is the first loss for San Jose, who falls to 4-1-0.
Linus Ullmark made 23 saves in net for Boston in the victory. Patrice Bergeron also had a two point day with two assists. The multi-point game by Marchand was his 181st of his career, moving past David Krejci for ninth place all-time in franchise history. Adin Hill started in net for San Jose stopping 10 of 14 shots. James Reimer stopped all 20 he faced in relief. The Bruins are in Florida Wednesday night to face the Panthers.
