The Chicago Bulls outscored the Boston Celtics 39-11 in the fourth quarter Monday night and took a 128-114 victory at TD Garden in Boston. Boston has now lost three in a row and drop their early season record to 2-5 that includes 0-3 at home.
Boston trailed by as many as 11 in the first half, before rallying back to take a 67-59 halftime lead. That lead was extended to as many as 19 in the third quarter on several occasions, taking a 14 point advantage to the fourth at 103-89. Chicago (6-1) started the final period on a 17-2 run to take a 106-105 lead on a three-pointer by Ayo Dosunmu with 6:54 left to play. The Celtics took their final lead of the night at 110-108 on a three point play by Al Horford 52 seconds later. The Bulls then would score 20 of the final 24 points of the game to pull away.
Jaylen Brown had 28 points for Boston, while Horford and Jayson Tatum had 20 points a piece. Horford had a double double by adding 10 rebounds. DeMar DeRozan had 37 points for Chicago, Zach Levine had 26, and Nikola Vucevic fell an assist shy of a triple double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists. The Celtics are in Orlando to battle the Magic on Wednesday night.
