Pastrnak records hat trick, Rask picks up win in his return

The Boston Bruins continued their red hot play on Thursday night, getting a hat trick from David Pastrnak and 25 saves from Tuuka Rask in his first game back for a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers at TD Garden.

After Brad Marchand recorded a hat trick in a 5-1 win over Montreal on Wednesday night, Pastrnak started his run at one when he scored both goals of the first period at 1:51 and then at 5:27 on the powerplay to make it 2-0 Boston. A powerplay goal by the Flyers Cam Atkinson at 8:02 of the second, and a tying tally by Joel Farabee almost seven minutes later made it 2-2. Pastrnak finished off his hat trick getting the game winner 1:45 later on the powerplay. Rask played in his first game since June 9 in a playoff series loss to the NY Islanders after undergoing surgery for a torn labrum in his hip, and was re-signed by the big club recently on a one year deal after a short reconditioning stint with the AHL affiliate in Providence.

Along with the three goals from Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy also was a multiple point scorer in the win with two assists. Atkinson had a goal and an assist, and Keith Yandle had two assists in the loss for Philadelphia (13-16-7). Carter Hart made 33 saves. Boston (21-11-2) is now 7-1 in their last eight games and will host Nashville on Saturday afternoon.
