Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 363 past athlete of the week winners.
This week we had five Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Izzy Allen averaged 34.7 points in leading Central to a 2-1 week. It is the fifth athlete of the week honor and third straight for Allen. She edged out Luna Perry St Peter from Deer Isle-Stonington to earn the honor this week.

January 9th-January 15th
- Izzy Allen- Central- basketball- had 40 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four steals, and four blocks in 65-41 win over Sumner. Had 35 points and five rebounds in 54-33 win over Mattanawcook. Had 29 points and four assists in 58-50 loss to Foxcroft.
Runner up
- Luna Perry St Peter – Deer Isle-Stonington- basketball- Recorded 29 points, seven assists, five rebounds, five steals and two blocks 60-38 win over Narraguagus. Also recorded 29 points, nine rebounds, nine steals, two assists and two blocks in 62-21 win over Searsport.
Other nominations
- Abby Knapp had 11 points and 19 rebounds (15 offensive) in 58-50 win over Central. Had seven points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks in 35-24 loss to Caribou.
- Abby Leahy- Caribou- basketball- had 16 points and 11 rebounds in 35-24 win over Foxcroft.
- Ellie Austin- PVHS- basketball- recorded 18 points, five rebounds, and five steals in 46-14 win over Schenck.
