WATERVILLE, Maine — The North Atlantic Conference announced its 2021-22 all-conference awards on Thursday and Husson University men’s basketball senior’s DJ Busse, Justin Thompson, and Justice Kendall all earned all-conference accolades.
Bussey, a native of Peoria, Arizona, earned first team honors after averaging a team-high 15.6 points per game, finishing ninth in the NAC in points per game. Additionally, Bussey finished third in the NAC with a 42.2% 3-point percentage — ranking 34th in the nation — while shooting 85.4% from the free throw line ranking top 55 in the nation.
Thompson, a native of East Millinocket, Maine, was named to the second team following his senior season in which he averaged 14.7 points per game, finished 15th in the NAC and 8.2 rebounds, which ranked eighth in the conference while dishing out 3.4 assists, which also ranked top 10 in the conference.
Kendall, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, earned both honorable mention and sportsmanship team honors after averaging 13.9 points per game, 2.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists, which ranked eighth overall in the conference. Additionally, Kendall averaged a 2.2 assist to turnover ratio which led the team and ranked sixth in the NAC and his 1.9 steals per game was also sixth best in the conference.
The men return to the court on Friday when they host Northern Vermont University-Lyndon at 5:30 p.m. in the NAC quarterfinals.
