MLB owners and players reach an agreement, as lockout ends

The baseball lockout is finally over on the 99th day. The owners and players finally came to a new collective bargaining agreement on Thursday afternoon. Opening day is set for April 7, with players reporting to spring training as early as tomorrow with spring games to begin either March 17 or 18th. The new CBA and 2022 MLB season will feature the full 162 games, universal designated hitter, nine inning doubleheaders, the elimination of the runner on second base to start extra inning games, and a 12 team expanded postseason.
