The Dexter Tigers softball team is coming off a Northern Maine championship. The Tigers lost a lot of talent from that squad but Coach Jason Hardy has a solid group of veteran leaders that he will be looking to lead a young team.
“We lost 5 starters from last years Senior group so we will have a lot of new faces in our lineup,”Hardy said. “We will be looking for these players to step up and compete to fill these open spots and their development will play a big role in our season. I think one of our strengths is our returning players experience and leadership from prior post season runs. Their leadership will help our younger players adjust to the level of play at the high school level.”
The new look Tigers will be hoping to improve each day and compete in a tough Class C.
“We are looking for our group to work hard each day to improve on our skills throughout the season. We will have a one game at a time mentality and hope to put ourselves in a position to compete in the post season,”Hardy said. “Coach Ranquist and I are excited to work with this group and look forward to watching them improve and compete over the coming season.”
Dexter is scheduled to open the season at PCHS on April 20th. The home opener is scheduled for April 25th against Mattanawcook.
