America East representative Binghamton eliminated at Stanford Regional

The America East Baseball Champion Binghamton Bearcats were eliminated on Saturday from the NCAA Division I Tournament by falling to #20 University of California-Santa Barbara 9-4 at Sunken Diamond in Stanford, California.

In the Regional hosted by #2 Stanford, Binghamton fell in the opener Friday in the double elimination format to the host Cardinal 20-7. The Bearcats end their season at 22-30, and were making their fifth NCAA Tournament appearance. Nick Roselli had four hits, Evin Sullivan three, and Cavan Tully along with Evan Haskell had two hits a piece in the loss in the loss on Friday. Sullivan added three more hits on Saturday, and Roselli had two along with two RBI. Thomas Babalis (4-7) and Ryan Bryggman (7-6) took the pitching defeats.

Binghamton had gone a perfect 3-0 in the America East Tournament last week in Orono, Maine beating the University of Massachusetts-Lowell in the title round 7-1 to advance. Stanford (42-14) and #14 Texas State (46-12) were playing in the winners bracket on Saturday night.
