Major League Baseball announced their newly revamped 2023 schedule on Wednesday afternoon. With the more balanced docket and for the first time ever all 30 clubs will face one another at least once, while having their division games reduced to include two fewer series (13 games opposed to the current format of 19). The season is broken down as follows- 52 division games, 64 within your own league (intraleague), and 46 games for each team outside of their own league (interleague).
For the Boston Red Sox, they will open at home for the fourth year in a row on March 30th when they welcome in the Baltimore Orioles. Eight NL teams will come to Fenway next season- Pittsburgh (April 3-5), St. Louis (May 12-14), Cincinnati (May 30-June 1), Colorado (June 12-14), Miami (June 27-29), NY Mets (July 21-23), Atlanta (July 25-26), and Mookie Betts returns to Boston with the LA Dodgers (August 25-27). The Sox will visit also visit eight NL parks in 2023 with road trips to Milwaukee (April 21-23), Philadelphia (May 5-7), Atlanta (May 9-10), San Diego (May 19-21), Arizona (May 26-28), Chicago Cubs (July 14-16), Oracle Park for the first time since 2016 to face the SF Giants (July 28-30), and also a trip to the nations capital to play Washington (August 15-17).
Other hightlighted home dates for Boston in 2023 include the annual Patriot’s Day game against the LA Angels as part of a four game set on April 17, Mother’s Day against St. Louis on May 14, Father’s Day against the NY Yankees on June 18, and a Fourth of July matinee against Texas.
