The Bucksport Golden Bucks boys soccer team defeated the Searsport Vikings 6-0 in a game played under the lights on Thursday in Bucksport.
Bucksport would take the lead in the 16th minute when Bo Provencher found Evan Donnell at the top of the box where he split two defenders and put it past the Searsport keeper. Fifteen minutes later, Brandon Elden would chip it over the Viking defense once again to Donnell to make it 2-0 in favor of the Bucks. Just three minutes later, Searsport would turn it over in their own end to Jason Terrill who hit a centering pass to Elden who would find the net from deep outside the 18 to put Bucksport up 3-0 going into the half. The second half would see more pressure from Bucksport, as they added three more goals to stay unbeaten. Donnell would lead the Bucks in scoring with five goals. Elden ended up with a goal and two assists, Provencher would have two assists, and Terrill had one. The Searsport goalie Sean Paige had an outstanding game for the Vikings with 20 saves on 61 shots, and Jake Williams for Bucksport preserved his sixth shutout of the season with six saves on 14 shots.
Bucksport (9-0) will travel to Central on 10/6 and Searsport (2-6) will host GSA on 10/1.
