Foxcroft boys soccer comes back to get win over Caribou

The Foxcroft boys soccer team rallied for a 3-2 win on Saturday afternoon at Caribou.

The Vikings got off to a fast start when Damien Gagnon headed in a corner just 2:36 into the game. Caribou then got a goal just five minutes later when Henry Hebert scored from 16 yards out off a pass from Jude Shea to make it 2-0 less than ten minutes in.

The Ponies started to claw their way back with 9:02 to go in the half when Baden Mercer scored on a beautiful shot from 17 yards out off a pass from Donnie Poole to make it 2-1 at the half.

Foxcroft Academy came out determined to start the second half, and 8:25 in Kyle Jankunas buried a penalty kick to even the score with the 1-7 Vikings. With 27:02 to go the comeback was complete as Kilian Thaler scored from right in front of the goal off an assist from Kyle Jankunas leading the 4-4-1 Ponies to the comeback victory.

Foxcroft goalie Fernando Oliveira made 13 saves against 15 shots, while Caribou goalie Logan White stopped 12 of 15..
