DOVER-FOXCROFT- The Foxcroft Academy Ponies scored 27 first quarter points on Friday night, and rolled to a 67-6 high school football win over the Hampden Academy Broncos in their homecoming game at Oakes Field.
Foxcroft quarterback Wyatt Rayfield help lead that big first quarter, as he tossed a pair of touchdowns both to Caden Crocker and also added a six yard scoring run himself. Kemsley Marsters also had a 26 yard TD scamper in that opening 12 minutes. Rayfield finished the night 5-6 passing for 69 yards with three touchdowns, and also had three rushes for 26 yards and a pair of scores. Rayfield was named the Bangor Savings Bank Player of the Game. Crocker had 101 all-purpose yards with three receptions for 53 yards and two touchdowns, and two runs for a total of 48 yards and a score. Jadon Richard had a second quarter 45 yard punt return that went for six, and returned an interception 70 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter. Lucas Sands (seven yard TD reception), and Aiden Harvey (four yard TD run) had the other scores for the 4-1 Ponies. Logan Burns had 17 carries for 80 yards, and Bilaal Toms threw a four yard touchdown pass to Kaysen Wildman in the fourth quarter in the loss for 1-5 Hampden Academy.
Both teams are back in action next Friday night as Foxcroft travels to Pittsfield to battle MCI, while Hampden is at home to take on John Bapst.
