Wyatt Rayfield tossed four touchdown passes, while both Kemsley Marsters and Caden Crocker scored two touchdowns each as the Foxcroft Academy Ponies beat the Oak Hill Raiders 47-6 on Friday night at Oakes Field in Dover-Foxcroft in the regular season finale. The Ponies with the win clinched the #1 seed for the Class D football playoffs which begin next week.
Rayfield got the scoring started with a three yard touchdown pass to Crocker 4:33 into the game. He then found Jadon Richard for a 72 yard TD early in the second, before Finn Holmes made it 21-0 Ponies at the half with a 28 yard TD run. Marsters took over to start the third quarter, returning the Oak Hill kickoff 77 yards for a score and then less than two minutes later he intercepted a pass and took it 30 yards for six to extend the advantage to 35-0. Hunter Drew had the only Raiders score of the night with a 32 yard touchdown run early in the fourth, before Rayfield closed out the scoring with TD passes of 64 yards to Jackson Smith and 25 yards to Crocker.
Rayfield finished 8-10 passing for 249 yards with the four touchdowns in the win. Holmes rushed twice for 68 yards with one touchdown, while Richard caught three passes for 118 yards and a score. Devin Henderson had 10 tackles to lead the defense. Marsters had the kickoff return and the interception return for touchdowns, while he also added another interception and hit five extra points. Marsters was named the Bangor Savings Bank Player of the Game. Drew led Oak Hill (2-6) with 19 carries for 107 yards and their lone touchdown. Foxcroft, the defending Class D state champions, finish the regular season at 7-1 with a five game winning streak. Both teams now gear up for the playoffs which begin next Friday.
