Izzy Allen scored 37 points to lead Central to a 56-31 win over John Bapst in the Smokey Lawrence Memorial Tournament at Brewer High School on Saturday afternoon.
The first half was a battle of free throw shooters, as Allen had seven from the line for the Red Devils. Allen led all scorers in the half with 10 points despite her shots not falling going 1-7 from three point range. The second half was starkly different from the first, as right out of the gates the Devils would get 15 points from their leader Allen. The half would also spark number 14 for the Crusaders, Lily Higgins, as she would put up 10 points after only having three in the opening stanza. In the end Central would come out victorious as Allen had a double-double and had a final stat line of 37 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks. Rylee Speed would lead the Lady Devils in assists with three. John Bapst was led in points, rebounds, and steals by Higgins who had 13, four, and two respectfully. The leader in assists for the Crusaders was a tie between Emma Lowell, Kaylee Horr, and Brynn Schroeher.
