DOVER-FOXCROFT- The Foxcroft Ponies overcame a hot Hermon start to rally for a 49-36 win on Tuesday night.
Jadon Richard had 10 of his game high 19 points in the third quarter as the Ponies scored the first 14 points of the second half to increase their one point halftime lead to 15.
The game started with the Hawks scoring the first seven points. Owen Wyman had seven first quarter points to help Hermon grab a 13-11 lead after the first eight minutes of play. Richard also had seven first quarter points for the Ponies.
Caden Crocker had five points in the second quarter as Foxcroft outscored Hermon 10-7 to take a 21-20 halftime advantage.
Richard took over in the third quarter, making three field goals plus going 4-4 from the free throw line. Foxcroft went 13-17 from the line for the game, including Richard going 7-10. The junior guard also had four rebounds, three steals, and two assists. Richard was named Bangor Savings Bank Player of the Game.
Crocker put in eight points for the Ponies. Jackson Smith and Adam Conner had six points each. Smith also pulled down 10 rebounds. Cam Chase and Ivan Mutafchiev put in four points each. Devin Henderson chipped in with two points. Foxcroft (4-2) will play at Dexter on Thursday.
Madden Henderson scored a team high 11 points for the Hawks. Wyman had 10 points and seven rebounds. Bryce Edwards had nine points, while Maddux Kinney, Bryan White, and Brady Hurd added two points each. Kinney also had 11 rebounds and three blocks. Hermon (1-5) will host Old Town on Thursday.
