The Woodland girls basketball team had four players in double figures and held off Calais in a 57-46 win on Saturday afternoon at Calais.
The Lady Dragons jumped out to a 14-4 lead after the first quarter and held a 24-17 halftime advantage. Woodland outscored Calais 18-9 in the third quarter as they held a comfortable 42-26 lead entering the final quarter.
Neveah Thomas scored 16 points to lead the Lady Blue Devils. Brenna Critchley added 13 points, while Mercedes Owen added 12. Calais (11-6) will end the regular season when they host Washington Academy on Tuesday.
Brooke Smith and Nicole Cox each scored 16 points to lead the Lady Dragons. Cox also had seven rebounds and four steals. Karleigh Smith had 12 points and six steals, while Hannah Lockenwitz filled up the stat sheet with 11 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Woodland (9-7) put themselves in great position to host a prelim game. They will end the regular season at home against Shead on Tuesday and at Lee on Wednesday.
