The crowd was electric, and the Howlers jumped out to an 11-3 lead after the first quarter led by five points from Scharff. A defensive second quarter by both teams had PVHS up 17-11 at the half, as two 3-pointers by Conrad Straubel for Bangor Christian kept the Patriots in it.
Bangor Christian upped the intensity in the third, leading to some steals and fast breaks and cutting the deficit to one, 23-22. Jalen Reed scored 7 of his teams 11 points during the frame for his team. In the fourth, the Howlers held their opponent to just five points, while Colin Dunn, Caleb Moon, Reed, and Doore all netted points to close out the game.
Doore scored in all four quarters, and finished with a game-high 12 points and five steals for the Howlers. In addition to five points from Scharff, he also hauled down a career high 11 rebounds.
