Along with the All-Academic All-State Teams, Senior All-Star Teams, and Coaches of the Year announcements on Wednesday the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches (MABC) also announced the semi-finalists for Mr. and Miss Maine Basketball which goes to the top senior player in the state. Both Mr. and Miss Basketball lists that have 10 players on each, have six candidates that represent the North while four come from the South.
Mr. Maine Basketball semi-finalists- Will Kusnierz (Dexter), Brady Saunders (Brewer), Brock Flagg (Brewer), Silvano Ismail (Cheverus), Charlie Houghton (Dirigo), Madden White (Nokomis), Cole Pulkkinen (Oxford Hills), Jaelen Jackson (South Portland), Will Davies (Thornton Academy), and Jason Reynolds (Winslow)
Miss Maine Basketball semi-finalists- Emily Streams (Bangor), Anna Turgeon (Falmouth), Lizzy Gruber (Gardiner), Isabella McLaughlin (Hampden), Hope Bouchard (Lawrence), Angel Huntsman (North Yarmouth Academy), Audrey Mackie (Oceanside), Elisa MacNair (Old Orchard Beach), Sierra Carson (Oxford Hills), and Maddy Russell (Southern Aroostook)
The finalists for the award will be announced in the coming days with the two winners to be announced at the MABC Banquet on Friday, March 10 at the Anah Shrine on Broadway in Bangor
