BANGOR- Bangor Christian got 20 points from Conrad Straubel and 17 more from Jalen Reed on Monday afternoon, scoring 40 points in the second half to outlast the Easton Bears 63-55 in a Maine Principals’ Association Class D boys basketball quarterfinal at the Cross Insurance Center.
Reed would lead the Patriots in rebounds with 16, also adding five steals and two blocks. Easton was led by Owen Sweeney who had 17 points, four steals, two rebounds, and two assists. Evan Carver would lead the Bears in rebounding with seven rebounds. Bangor Christian (15-4) will advance to play Southern Aroostook in a semifinal on Thursday. The quarterfinal victory was the first for a Bangor Christian team since 2009. Easton has their season come to an end with a 12-7 record.
