Former Bangor High School and Husson University football coach Gabby Price was selected to be inducted into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame on Wednesday.
Price, who was an offensive coordinator at Bangor High from 1973-1975 and 1976-1984, went on to be the head coach of the Rams from 1992-2000. He helped lead Bangor to a pair of Class A State Championships as a coordinator in 1979 and 1981. Price left the school after the 2000 season, and shortly after helped start the football program at Husson. He was the head coach in two stints with the Eagles from 2002-2008, and also 2013-2018. Between 2004-2008 he also served as the Director of Athletics. Price was named Coach of the Year four times and won five conference titles. That also included four NCAA Tournament appearances and two Eastern College Athletic Conference Bowl games. He retired with 72 wins at Husson, the most in program history at the time of this Hall of Fame selection.
Price will be inducted into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame in a ceremony at Merrill Auditorium in Portland on October 29 joining other fellow Husson legends Clara Swan, Del Merrill, Bruce MacGregor, Jake Scott, Keith Mahoney, and Thaxter Trafton.
