About the All-Star Event

The 2023 annual Maine McDonald’s All-Star High School Senior Basketball Games in partnership with the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches were held on March 11, at the Newman Gymnasium at Husson University in Bangor. This statewide event celebrated and recognized over 120 Maine high school seniors, their schools, coaches and athletic programs that teach these students the value of teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and academics. This year was the return of the Awards Banquet after a 2-year hiatus. The Awards Banquet took place at the Anah Shrine Hall on Friday night.

The 2023 All-Star Games marked locally owned Maine McDonald’s 35th consecutive year as lead sponsor of this event. Net proceeds from the games benefitted Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine. Since 1983, RMHC Maine has been a place of comfort, care and compassion for thousands of families on the medical journey of their child’s illness. Core programs include Ronald McDonald House Programs in Bangor and Portland, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in Bangor and Portland, and RMHC Grants Program. At the Ronald McDonald House, families find a welcoming smile from a friendly volunteer, a home-cooked meal to enjoy after a long day at the hospital, a good night’s sleep in a caring environment, and receive the support needed to endure a most difficult time. The cost of a family’s one-night stay at the House is $100; however, families are asked to contribute only $10 per night towards their stay.  No family is turned away due to inability to pay, ever.
