The North Atlantic Conference has announced the teams, times, dates, and sites for the upcoming NAC Tournament starting this coming Sunday. SUNY-Poly earns the right to host the softball playoffs, while the baseball playoffs with be held at the Winkin Complex in Bangor as the Husson Eagles will host.
The Husson softball team (27-12-1,10-0 NAC East) did finish as the top seed for the tournament, however #2 SUNY-Poly (20-5, 11-1 NAC West) earned the right to host based off overall winning percentage and strength of schedule. Both the Eagles and Wildcats receive a first round bye and will play against the winners of the first two games on Sunday afternoon. Also representing the East Division is the University of Maine-Presque Isle and Thomas College, while Cazenovia College and SUNY-Cobleskill from the West also made it into the six team/double elimination tournament. Sunday, May 7- all games played at Wildcat Softball Field in Utica, New York (double elimination)-
G1- #4 Cazenovia College (19-15, 10-2) vs #5 UMPI (12-21, 5-5)- 10 a.m.
G2- #3 Thomas College (14-13, 7-3) vs #6 SUNY-Cobleskill (11-23, 6-6)- 12 p.m.
G3- #1 Husson (27-12-1, 10-0) vs G1 winner- 2 p.m.
G4- #2 SUNY-Poly (20-5, 11-1) vs G2 winner- 4 p.m.
Monday, May 8
G5- G2 loser vs G3 loser- 9 a.m.
G6- Game 1 loser vs G4 loser- 11 a.m.
G7- G3 winner vs G4 winner- 1 p.m.
G8- G5 winner vs G6 winner- 3 p.m.
G9- G8 winner vs G7 loser- 5 p.m.
Tuesday, May 9
G10- G7 winner vs G9 winner- 1 p.m.
G11- G10 winner vs G10 loser (if necessary)- 3 p.m.
On the baseball side, Husson (20-16, 14-2 NAC East) finished as the #2 seed but based off overall win percentage and strength of schedule the Eagles will host the tournament. SUNY-Cobleskill (20-13, 13-2 NAC West) is the top seed. Joining Husson out of the East Division is #3 Thomas College, while SUNY-Canton earned the final spot out of the West in the four team/double elimination tournament.
