The NFL announces the 2023 schedule

The National Football League announced their full 2023 game schedules on Thursday night.

The New England Patriots will open their 2023 slate at home on Sunday, September 10 when they take on the defending NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles at 4:25 p.m. The other home opponents making a trip into Gillette Stadium include the Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, Buffalo Bills, Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs, and the New York Jets. New England will be the home team in a game in Frankfurt, Germany in week 10 against the Indianapolis Colts. Former Pats quarterback and future Hall of Famer Tom Brady will be honored by the team in the home opener on September 10, as announced by New England owner Robert Kraft.

The reigning Super Bowl Champion Chiefs will unveil their new banner on the opening night of the season on Thursday, September 7 when they play host to the Detroit Lions at Arrowhead Stadium. Along with the three Thanksgiving Day games and Christmas Day games, the league also announced a contest to be shown on Black Friday for the first time ever when the Miami Dolphins take on Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets on Amazon. The Turkey Day games include Green Bay at Detroit, Washington at Dallas, and San Francisco at Seattle. The games on Christmas has Las Vegas at Kansas City, NY Giants at Philadelphia, and Baltimore at San Francisco. The International Series this season will have five matchups with three in London and two in Germany. The games in England include Atlanta vs Jacksonville (Week 4), Jacksonville vs Buffalo (Week 5), and Baltimore vs Tennessee (Week 6). Along with the New England vs Indianapolis game in Frankfurt in Week 10, the other game in Germany will feature Miami and Kansas City in Week 9.
