Andrew Herrick from Ellsworth high school qualified for both shot put and discus in the Class B State Championship. Under horrible weather conditions, 45 degrees and pouring rain at Freeport High School, came in 4th place in both events. Getting a PR in discus of 119’ 5”. Herrick earned male athlete of the week with 59% of the vote, Hunter Lee (Lawrence) was runner up with 41% of the vote.Click here for full results
Herrick joins Nick Bagley (12-6-14), Javon Williams (9-9-18), Matt Burnett (2) (6-20-19), Hunter Curtis (5-10-21), and Mercedes Ulichny 6-3-23 as student/athletes from Ellsworth high school that have earned athlete of the week honors.
