Cayden Boozer scored a game high 23 points on Sunday afternoon, as the NightRydas Elite topped Maine United 58-50 in the Nike Youth Basketball 16U Peach Jam Championship game in North Augusta, South Carolina.
It was a rematch of a Maine win over the NightRydas earlier in the tournament, and also pitted the top two recruits in the Class of 2025 in Cameron Boozer and Newport native Cooper Flagg. With Cameron in foul trouble most of the game, his brother Cayden would step up to lead his team to the title. Maine trailed by three at halftime and were within one with about 2:30 left to play, but the NightRydas ended the contest on a 7-0 run.
Cooper Flagg finished the day with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists. He averaged 25.4 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in the five games as Maine United finished a great run at 6-1. Coopers brother Ace Flagg also scored 12 points, and Landon Clark added 10. Ace and Landon also had a fantastic week averaging 14.9 and 10.6 points respectively per outing. The NightRydas Elite (6-1) win the Peach Jam for a second straight season, as they beat Maine United 79-36 in the 15U championship a year ago.
