Husson men’s and women’s soccer sweep NAC contests over SUNY Morrisville

The Husson men’s and women’s soccer teams both hosted SUNY Morrisville in conference play in Bangor Saturday afternoon, and both stayed unbeaten in the NAC with wins.

At Boucher Field in Bangor- The Husson women’s soccer team held the visitors from SUNY Morrisville to just two shots on goal and also used three different goal scorers in a 3-0 victory over the Mustangs. Devon St. Louis had the eventual game winner for the Eagles in the 15th minute of the first half. Charlotte Messer in the 23rd minute, and Natalie Aviolla 16 minutes into the second half rounded out the scoring. Madison Weigler had the shutout in net. Melanie Rott made nine saves in the loss for SUNY Morrisville, who falls to 3-6-2, 2-1-2 in the North Atlantic Conference. Husson improves to 7-4-1, 3-0-0 in conference play and is set to host SUNY Poly on Sunday at noon.

In the men’s game at Boucher Field- Carlos Etchevers scored his second goal of the season in the 14th minute of the first half and that is all Husson would need in a 1-0 victory over SUNY Morrisville. Hugo Llopiz assisted on the Etchevers marker, and Alex Rechsteiner stopped all three shots he faced in net for the shutout. Caleb Lucero had five saves in the loss for the Mustangs, who fall to 3-8-2, 3-2-0 in the NAC. The Eagles improved to 7-3-3, 3-0-0 in conference play and will also host SUNY Poly on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
