DOVER-FOXCROFT- The two-time defending state champion Foxcroft Academy football team played their toughest game of the regular season two weeks ago in a 35-14 win at Winslow. There was never any doubt though in the rematch on Saturday night. Gage Beaudry rushed for three first quarter touchdowns, and Jadon Richard had three interceptions also all in the first half as the Ponies built a big lead at the break and rolled to a 62-7 victory over the Black Raiders in a Class D North semifinal game played at Oakes Field.

After Winslow (4-6) went three and out with the first possession of the night, Beaudry took a handoff and went 70 yards for a touchdown on the first play for Foxcroft to set the tone of the evening. He added scoring runs of 7 and 39 yards in the first quarter, while Wyatt Rayfield had touchdown passes of 36 and 47 yards to Jadon Richard and Silas Topolski in the second respectively. Finn Holmes also got into the endzone on a 3-yard run as the Ponies led 42-0 at halftime. Richard also had three interceptions of Winslow quarterback Liem Fortin in the first 24 minutes of action. Kemsley Marsters had a short touchdown run in the third quarter, while Landon Smith had a 52-yard scoring run and backup quarterback Griffin Caruso also had pitch-pass of 35-yards for a touchdown to Aiden Sickler to finish the scoring in the fourth for 9-0 Foxcroft Academy.

Beaudry had 184 yards rushing on 10 carries with his three touchdowns to lead the way for the winners. Rayfield went 8-9 passing for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Richard had three receptions for 62 yards and a score, also adding his three interceptions and 2.5 tackles on defense. Matt Quirion led Winslow in the loss with 14 carries for 57 yards and a fourth quarter touchdown on the ground, and caught two passes for 22 yards. The Ponies will face John Bapst (7-2) for the Class D North Regional Championship at Hampden Academy next Saturday at either 11 a.m. or 3 p.m. Foxcroft defeated the Crusaders in the regular season meeting in Week 1 by a score of 54-6.
