Orono senior Ruth White ended her amazing high school cross country career on Saturday with a strong finish at the Foot Locker Nationals held in San Diego, California.
White finished her 5K run in sixth place out of 40 total competitors. Her time was 17:43.1, just one-tenth of a second out of a fifth place finish. She qualified for the Nationals by finishing third in the Northeast Regionals in Boston back on November 25. White is expected to be in the running for additional accolades for what has been a fantastic four years at Orono High School before graduation next June. She has already committed to attend Boise State University beginning in the fall of 2024, where she will continue her cross country career.
