GUILFORD- Mary Allen had a quadruple double to lead the Central Lady Red Devils to a 55-42 win over Piscataquis Community High School (PCHS) on Friday evening.
Allen finished with 26 points, 12 steals, 10 assists, 10 rebounds, and two blocks. Between points and assists, Allen had a part in all the Red Devils baskets with the exception of three. She also went 7-9 from the free throw line.
The Lady Pirates were able to stay in the game, cutting the deficit to single digits in the second half behind a huge rebounding advantage. Freshman Reese Starbird led the way with 17 rebounds as PCHS out rebounded Central 41-17.
Ava Goulette (15) and Brookie Hunt (13) combined for 28 points for the Lady Pirates. Each of them contributed nine rebounds and three steals. Goulette also had five blocks and three assists. Starbird added six points and six steals. Hope Hunt chipped in with five points. PCHS (0-3) will travel to Greenville on Monday.
Sydney Gray had 18 points, including 10 in the second half for the Lady Red Devils. Kaitlyn McCorrison (4), Bayleigh Irish (3), Mackenzie Graham (2), and Madison Pinkham (2) also got in the scorebook. Central (2-1) will host Dexter on Monday.
