GUILFORD- The Piscataquis Community High School (PCHS) Pirates had 12 three pointers and defeated Central 64-49 on Friday night.
The Pirates scored the first 12 points of the second quarter to break open a close game. PCHS outscored the Red Devils 20-8 in the quarter to take a 39-23 advantage into halftime.
Noah Kain led the way for the Pirates with 17 points, including 5 three-pointers. Scott Chadbourne had 15 pointers (1 three- pointer), nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Brady Gaw filled up the stat sheet with 14 points (2 three-pointers), six rebounds, five assists, four blocks, and four steals. Chase Lander put in 12 points, all on three-pointers. Ben Higgins chipped in with six points. PCHS starts the season 4-0 for the first time since the 2001/2002 season. The Pirates will travel to Greenville on Monday.
Jakson Pollock scored a game high 24 points for the Red Devils. Pollock made 2 three-pointers and pulled down five rebounds. Ethan Ladd added nine points and eight rebounds, Nicholas Masters put in eight, while Aiden Gregory had four points, five rebounds, and two steals. Malcom Butler and Jaden LePage chipped in with two points each. Central (0-3) will host Dexter on Tuesday.
