At Sereyko Gym in Howland on Wednesday, the PVHS Lady Howlers hosted the Orono Red Riots. PVHS started the game on a 20-2 run and never looked back in rolling to a 74-21 win. The victory earned head coach Nate Case his 100th career win.
Junior guard Ellie Austin scored 21 points and ripped down 11 boards, while sophomore Lila Cummings had 18 points and had 13 boards. The PVHS defense was able to capitalize in transition on 28 team steals.
The Orono Red Riots were lead by Nina Mitchell with 10 points and Abbigail Haney had five. PVHS (4-1) is back in action today (Thursday) traveling to Woodland to face the Dragons. Orono will next play on Friday as they host the Calais Blue Devils.
