At Howland on Monday night, the Penobscot Valley High School (PVHS) Howlers won their 13th game of the season by coasting past the Central Red Devils 71-36 in Class C girls basketball action.
PVHS led 17-6 after one quarter, and used their defense to outscore Central 20-2 in the second period to extend their lead to a 37-8 halftime lead in improving to 13-2.
PVHS freshman Brooklynn Raymond continues to have an impressive season for the Lady Howlers with 18 points, including four 3-point shots. Sophomore forward Lila Cummings added 14 points, nine rebounds, and five steals.
Mary Allen lead all scorers with 25 points in the loss for Central (7-6). Senior Sydney Gray also added five points for the Red Devils.
Both teams return to action on Wednesday as PVHS will travel to play the Schenck Wolverines, and Central will host the Searsport Vikings.
