GUILFORD- On a night that a lot of money was raised for a great cause, and a coach reached the 300 career win mark, Mazie Peach and Desiree Adams each recorded a double-double to help Dexter defeat PCHS 50-19. The win was the 300th of Coach Jody Grant’s career. A total of $2920 was raised for the Aliza Jean Family Cancer Foundation on Aliza Jean Night at Piscataquis Community Secondary School.
Peach, Adams, and Cally Gudroe each had six first quarter points as the Lady Tigers held a 20-4 after the first eight minutes. Peach put in 10 more in the second quarter as Dexter built the lead to 34-9 at intermission.
Peach finished with 24 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks, two assists, and two steals. Adams had 14 points, 12 rebounds, and two steals. Gudroe recorded six points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. The Tigers out-rebounded PCHS 35-20. Dexter (14-1) will host Bucksport on Saturday at 12:15 on Eastern Maine Sports Media.
Ava Goulette led the Lady Pirates with six points, seven rebounds, and four blocks. Reese Starbird added four points. PCHS (2-13) will host Stearns on Friday at 5:45 PM on Eastern Maine Sports Media.
