With the #5 Long Island Nets knocking off the top seed Oceaola Magic 120-112 on Friday night in Florida, the #2 Maine Celtics will host the NBA G League Eastern Conference Final against Long Island at the Portland Expo on Sunday at 7 p.m.
Maine (22-13), who got a bye in the quarterfinals, beat the Delaware Blue Coats 119-112 in the semifinal round on Thursday night in Portland. Long Island will come in with a 21-15 record, winning a close 120-118 battle over Capital City in the quarterfinals before pulling the upset Friday night over the Magic. The Celtics and Nets split the regular season series 2-2. Tip-off on Sunday at the Expo is at 7 p.m. The winner of the single elimination contest advances to the G League Finals (best of three) that begins on Tuesday night.
