The 2024 America East regular season baseball awards and All-Conference Teams were announced by the league on Tuesday. From the University of Maine- Jeremiah Jenkins was named to the First Team, Gianni Gambardella and Jake Marquez to the Second Team, and Jason Kreiger earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team.
The junior first baseman Jenkins made the All-Conference Team for a third straight year, and for the second consecutive season found himself on the first team. Jenkins was first in homeruns (22) and slugging percentage (.762), third in batting average (.341) and runs scored (47), and also fourth in RBI (50) and on base percentage (.451).
The sophomore pitcher Gambardella earned a second straight nod to the All-Conference team. The right hander had the second lowest earned run average in America East games (1.96) and the second lowest batting average against (.179). He only allowed five earned runs in 23 league innings pitched.
The senior Marquez was only one of two Black Bears that appeared in every game this season for the team. The utility player batted .280 and was 15th in America East with 34 RBI. He also had a team-high 32 game on-base streak, and only failed to reach base in four games in the entire 2024 campaign.
The freshman Kreiger sported the lowest ERA on the team for the season at 5.26 (11th in the conference). He also pitched the seventh most innings overall (65.0), had the eighth most strikeouts (54), and the most strikeouts looking (21).
