Oxford Hills varsity head football coach Mark Soehren has resigned his position at the school, in an announcement he made on Twitter (X) on Tuesday.
Soehren has been the head coach for the last 12 seasons with the Vikings, after spending one year as an assistant. He led Oxford Hills to their first Class A Football State Title in 2022 by beating Thornton Academy. Soehren felt like it was time to move on and have someone else put their stamp on the program. He has two kids already in college, and his daughter is finishing up her senior year at OH before attending Penn State in the fall. Prior to him taking over as head coach, the Vikings had gone 2-22 the previous three seasons. He will end his tenure with an overall record of 58-48, which includes a 27-5 record in his last three years. He previously coached at Poland Regional High School for eight years, with the last three as head coach. Soerhen will stay on as a teacher at the school, where he instructs physics and chemistry.
