Bangor team roster finalized for first season in Northeast Collegiate Baseball League

The Bangor Babes have finalized their roster, made up of mostly state of Maine players, prior to their first season in the Northeast Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) that begins for them on Sunday.

The Bangor team feature local players from Husson University, Thomas College, the University of Maine, and Southern Maine Community College. The Babes also have players that represent Hendrix College (Arkansas), Clark University (Massachusetts), Galvaston College (Texas), and Clarion University (Pennsylvania).

The Babes kick off the inaugural 2024 regular season by visiting the Old Orchard Bugs, who are also in their first season, for a doubleheader at the Old Ballpark on Sunday afternoon. All Bangor home games are played at the Winkin Complex at Husson University, with the home opener set for June 12. The league is made up of five teams all from Maine- the Bangor Babes, Old Orchard Bugs, Gorham Lightning, Sebago Slammin’ Salmon, and the Augusta Surgin’ Sturgeon (also first year team). The NECBL consists of 24 regular season games (six against each member team), to be followed by playoffs. Below is the full Bangor schedule-
