The Bangor Babes stayed unbeaten in Greater Northeast Collegiate Baseball League action on Wednesday night, with an 11-1 win over the Sebago Slammin’ Salmon at Larry Mahaney Diamond in Standish.
Bangor got all they needed in the top of the second inning on a Sebago error that scored a run, and an RBI sacrifice fly from Griffin Ruffner. They would later pull away in the eighth on an RBI double by Sam Economy, RBI singles by Charlie Deaton and Landon Williams, an RBI triple by Liam O’Neal, and an RBI sacrifice fly by Isaac Hainer. The Babes had 11 hits led by three from Hainer, and two each from O’Neal and Tyler Annis. Hainer and Deaton had two RBI each. They also stole six bases as Jason Bartlett had two, and Annis, Deaton, O’Neal, and Marcus Delgado had one a piece. Bradie Harvie got the win on the mound after not allowing a hit or a run with one walk and two strikeouts in 4.0 innings. Owen Critchley took the loss for Sebago giving up two runs (none earned) on two hits in 1.2 innings. Bob Wing had the lone hit of the evening for the Slammin’ Salmon, who has their record fall to 1-7.
Bangor is now 7-0, and is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday with a doubleheader on the road against the Gorham Lightning beginning at 3 p.m. at the Costello Sports Complex.
