“I am excited to start working with Pliable because the company has a proven track record of supporting high school, college and professional athletes. My goal is to play Division 1 field hockey or ice hockey and Pliable has a lot of experience, especially in those two sports. Greg also really wants to increase the popularity of women’s sports, and that means a lot to me. I am excited to be part of the Pliable team of athletes who are doing incredible things in their sports and in their communities,” said Lydia Trytek, field hockey and ice hockey player at North Yarmouth Academy.
In addition to ice hockey, Trytek is also one of the top field hockey players in Maine. Trytek started playing for the Maine Styx U14 team and currently plays midfield for the North Yarmouth Academy/Gray-Gloucester team. She will try out for the Coastal field hockey team this fall.
Trytek has signed for NIL representation with Pliable which will provide her with athlete support and branding services, including access to a wide range of partnership opportunities with local and national companies. She will work closely with Greg Glynn, Athlete Brand Advisor & CEO of Pliable to pursue her career goals of playing college sports at the Division 1 level and entering the medical field.
“Lydia has demonstrated her passion for field hockey and ice hockey, which are two sports that are growing in popularity. By working together, I know she will have a lot of opportunities coming her way. Pliable is proud to help Lydia navigate new name, image and likeness opportunities, which includes the college recruiting process, which is different now, especially because of the pending House vs. NCAA case. I am excited to start working with Lydia and her family. She is going to be a great addition to the team of Pliable athletes, which includes many current college field hockey and ice hockey players who will support her, too,” said Greg Glynn, founder & CEO of Pliable.
In July of 2021, the NCAA adopted an interim policy that allows college student-athletes to benefit and receive compensation from companies, organizations, and brands in exchange for the athlete using their name, image and likeness (NIL) to promote or endorse products or services. College athletes can now also receive compensation from their own entrepreneurial endeavors, including posting social media content for local businesses and national brands, selling merchandise, plus hosting sports camps, providing instruction and more. |
