Flagg tabbed as a Wooden Award finalist, makes Wooden All-America Team and also named CBS Sports Player of the Year

The accolades keep coming for Newport, Maine native and Duke freshman Cooper Flagg. On Tuesday, Flagg was tabbed as a top five finalist for the John R. Wooden Award given annually to the best college basketball player in the country.

The other four finalists are Johni Broome from Auburn, Walter Clayton Jr. of Florida, Mark Sears of Alabama, and Braden Smith from Purdue. All five also made the Wooden All-America Team. The other five added to the team were L.J. Cryer (Houston), Kam Jones (Marquette), Ryan Kalkbrenner (Creighton), Chaz Lanier (Tennessee), and John Tonje (Wisconsin). Flagg, Broome, Clayton Jr., and Cryer are all competing for their respective teams in the Final Four in San Antonio on Saturday. The Wooden Award winner will be honored on April 11th at the Los Angeles Athletic Club.
