Boija to stay at Maine for his upcoming junior season

According to Mark Divver on X on Thursday afternoon, University of Maine goalie Albin Boija will be staying with the Black Bears for his upcoming junior season. The native of Sundsvall, Sweden is expected to attend Bruins development camp this upcoming summer.

Boija, who is a top four finalist for the Richter Award given to the top goaltender in the country, took over the full time netminding duties from senior Victor Ostman during his freshman season in 2023-24. In his sophomore campaign that just finished, Boija had a record of 23-8-6 with a 1.82 goals against average, and a save percentage of .928 to go along with four shutouts. He was named to the Hockey East Second Team, and helped to lead Maine to their first conference championship since 2004.
