Simpson and Raymond lead Bucksport to win at Foxcroft

Lexi Raymond went 4-4 with four RBI and four stolen bases from the leadoff spot, Natalie Simpson took care of the rest from the circle to lead Bucksport softball to a 19-0 win at Foxcroft on Monday afternoon.

Bucksport scored four in the top of the first inning as Marina Keene, Simpson, and Addison Harvey each drove home a run. The Bucks also took advantage of a Ponies error. Lili Bisson started the bottom of the first inning with a single for the Ponies. Bisson stole second base, but on the play Raymond made a perfect throw to third base to cut down the runner.

Simpson took over from that point. She struck out eight of the next nine batters she faced. She only allowed two hits and one walk, while striking out 11. Simpson threw 68 pitches (49 strikes).

Bucksport broke the game open with a seven run third inning. Raymond hit a single that scored two runs, while Jetta Shook and Simpson hit back to back doubles to highlight the inning.

Marina Keene reached base five times, including three hits, two RBI, and four stolen bases. Simpson had three hits, including two doubles and three RBI. Harvey had three hits, three RBI, and two stolen bases. Shook had three RBI. Keene scored three runs, while Liv Shute, Harvey, and Brianna Rotella scored two runs each.

Bisson and Addison Menz each had one hit and one stolen base for the Ponies. Bisson allowed five earned runs and struck out six for the Ponies.
